You have asked, and we are proud to introduce our Newest Road Trip Itinerary, Ultimate Oregon.
State of Oregon is home to some of the most diverse landscape and scenic views in the entire United States, so we decided to pick our favorite locations in the state and create the ultimate itinerary. Our Ultimate Oregon loop combines the best of Oregon’s wilderness, beaches, waterfalls, State and National Parks. Our new itinerary is 9 nights long, beginning and ending in Portland, Oregon.
Starting in Portland that services many non-stop flights from around the US, you will have your pick of a large fleet of rental vehicles. Head to Portland a day or two early and explore the vibrant city before you head out on your RV road trip.
From Portland, drive to the coast of Oregon. The state of Oregon has 362 miles of gorgeous coastline along the Pacific Ocean, making it an ideal road trip destination for everyone. You will find a plethora of charming towns along the Oregon Coast including Seaside, Cannon Beach, Newport, Pacific City, Bandon, and Astoria. Lining the coast, you will also find magnificent state parks like Harris Beach, Cape Blanco, Oswald East, and many more as well as popular recreation areas like the Oregon Dunes. Swimming, surfing, atv tours, hiking and more can easily take up your days, while beach bonfires and smores can fill your nights.
After traveling along the Coast, you will then head along the Waterfall Highway to one of Oregon’s crown jewels of Crater Lake National Park. With two nights in this area, you will get to know this small Park intimately. People come from miles around to marvel at its wide expanse of glistening water of Crater Lake.. You can take to the lake for boating, swimming, and visiting the stunning Wizard Island. Around Crater Lake, you will find hiking trails, camping spots, and charming little towns waiting to welcome you.
Continue your journey to the quaint and popular town of Bend. Sitting on the eastern edge of the Deschutes National Forest this once logging town has transformed into an outdoor enthusiast playground. In the area, you will be able to explore 80,000-year-old lava tubes, go canoeing on Hosmer Lake, float the Deschutes River or head to the many local craft breweries and eateries. Smith Rock State Park is also a huge draw to the area for climbers and hikers alike. After two nights in the area, you will probably want to stay longer.
The last stop on our itinerary is the small town of Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. Hood River is a popular weekend getaway destination for those looking to unplug from the hustle and bustle of life and reconnect with nature. There is something for every kind of outdoor lover in the area including windsurfing in the Gorge, rafting on the White Salmon, seeking waterfalls, biking the miles of trails or exploring the farms and wineries of the Hood River Fruit Loop.In the historic downtown, you will find charming restaurants, specialty shops, and art galleries. You can spend your last morning driving along the Columbia River before returning your RV in Portland.
