Bozeman to Missoula: 200 miles

1 night Missoula, MT

From Bozeman, travel to the charming western town of Missoula. Along the way, you can stop in the charming town of Three Forks, where the Missouri River begins or explore the historic mining town of Butte, known for its rich history and the fascinating World Museum of Mining. Once in the Missoula area, you can explore the town’s vibrant arts scene, visit local museums like the Missoula Art Museum, or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Clark Fork River. Discover the town’s unique shops and eateries, and immerse yourself in its lively cultural atmosphere.

Missoula to West Glacier: 130 miles

2 nights Glacier National Park (Western Area)

Head to the western side of Glacier National Park, passing along the shores of Flathead Lake, known for having some of the cleanest water in the world. In West Glacier, where you’ll spend two nights, you can explore Lake McDonald with its stunning scenery, visit the historic Lake McDonald Lodge, and enjoy other nearby attractions. Additionally, consider a relaxing float trip along the Flathead River to complete your visit.

West Glacier to East Glacier: 85 miles

3 nights Glacier National Park (Eastern Area)

Head over to the eastern side of Glacier National Park, where you can explore the stunning Many Glacier, Two Medicine, and St. Mary areas. This side of the park is more remote and less crowded, offering some of the park’s most breathtaking scenery. Drive along the scenic Going-to-the-Sun Road for spectacular mountain views and expansive vistas. Take a boat ride on Many Glacier Lake to appreciate the dramatic backdrop of surrounding peaks and enjoy opportunities for wildlife viewing. In Two Medicine, hike to picturesque spots like the Scenic Point Trail or the serene Two Medicine Lake.

East Glacier to Helena: 200 miles

1 night Helena, MT

Leaving East Glacier, your drive to Helena. The route showcases Montana’s changing landscapes, from the rugged splendor of the park to rolling prairies and distant mountain ranges. As you approach Helena, the state capital’s blend of historical charm and modern vibrancy offers a perfect finale. Explore the Montana State Capitol and its stunning architecture, or visit the lively Last Chance Gulch for shopping and dining. The city’s historic districts and nearby natural areas provide plenty of options. The following day, with a short drive to Bozeman, you will return your RV and fly home.
