Our Favorite Guided Tours in Zion National Park

Sometimes you just want someone to whisk you away and show you the sights! Often guided tours and specialized activities are really best left to the experts. There are so many outfitters and companies that offer experiences. We have compiled a list of our favorite activities and tours in and around Zion National Park that just might be worth booking.

Canyoneering

Canyoneering is a major activity in Zion, and we encourage you to give it a go. We highly recommend our friends at Zion Rock and Mountain Guides. ZRMC offers full- and half-day and family tours where you can rappel and free climb in some of the most spectacular scenery. All skill levels are welcome, as the guides will tailor your tour to you. www.zionrockguides.com / (435) 294-2192

Helicopter Flight

There’s nothing like getting a bird’s eye view of these spectacular landscapes. You fly over the Virgin River Valley on a flight with Zion Helicopters. You will have breathtaking views of West Temple and the large Crater Hill Volcano, located within the park. Flights start at $99/per person. www.zionhelicopters.com / (435) 668-4185

Sunset Jeep Tour

Want to let someone else do the driving? Then we suggest taking the afternoon and heading out on a sunset jeep tour with Zion Rock and Mountain Guides. We like them because they will pick you up and take you to 360-degree views of Zion National Park, the Pine Valley Mountains, and the Parashaunt National Monument. Book the sunset trip for the most spectacular tour. www.zionrockguides.com / (435) 294-2192

Guided Day Hike

Let someone else do the planning for you by hiring a professional guide to take you on a hike through the park; we recommend booking with Cedar & Sage Travel. These folks get rave reviews and will guide you and teach you about local geology, history, ecology, and more. All their tours are private, so you can let them know what interests you most and include a picnic lunch. www.cedarandsagetravel.com

Horseback Rides

Canyon Trail Rides has the only equestrian permit in Zion and offers fantastic trail rides. They are located across the street from the Zion Lodge. They offer two rides: a lovely relaxing 1 hour horseback tour (min age 7 yrs.) that follows the Virgin River for about one mile to the Court of the Patriarchs and back, or a more adventurous horseback ride, the 3-hour trip (min age 10 yrs.) will take you around the Sandbench Trail, gradually ascending 500 feet giving you a spectacular view of the Southern end of Zion National Park. Rides start at $50/pp. www.canyonrides.com / (435) 772-3810
